Frog
"A frog is very interesting. He sits like us, too, you know. But he does not think that he is doing anything so special." Shunryu Suzuki
Frog Settling the length of myself onto the black cushion, I sink into my posture like a frog squat on his lily pad. And with each breath, a bobbing in and out of stillness. And with each breath, thoughts gather around my head like a cloud of flies. That this frog might flick his tongue and grab one, but he knows he’s liable to get stuck. Better to fast, he croaks.

Beautiful—makes a serious point, yet somehow still touched by your characteristic humor.
Such an elegantly simple meditative piece. Thoughts as a cloud of flys, a frog at peace aware of the thoughts and but still able to leave them alone. I’ll never look at a frog again without thinking about that image. Beautifully done.
